The Ministry of Education says it has received reports that some Heads of Senior High Schools and Technical Institutes are allegedly demanding three terms boarding and examination fees from parents and guardians.

A statement issued in Accra said under no circumstances should any school demand such payments from any student and directs all Heads who have collected such fees from parents to refund them immediately.

The statement warned that any Head caught flouting the directive would be severely dealt with.

The Ministry of Education reminds all SHS Heads to collect boarding fees on termly basis since that is the approved method.

Meanwhile the Director of Public Relations, Ministry of Education; Paul Krampa said the authorities are critically looking at how to increase admission of applicants into Training Colleges.

He gave the assurance that there is capacity to admit more students.

On admission of SSS students on the catchment area basis, he said, those who could not gain admission will be selected through the placement scheme.
