A businesswoman at Winneba in the Central Region, Delilah Treveh, popularly known as Daavi, on August 1, 2012 met her untimely death when some masked armed robbers stabbed her to death at her Winneba residence.

Her body has since been deposited at the Winneba Government Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE, an eyewitness stated that on that fateful day, Daavi went to the bank to withdraw some money and proceeded to Accra to purchase stock for her store at Winneba.

The eyewitness indicated that after closing her shop on that day
around 8:30pm, Daavi went home to prepare for the next day.
Immediately Daavi got home, she heard a knock on her door and she went to open it.

She saw about five masked men with guns and knives and ran back in to lock the door to prevent them from coming in but they overpowered her and forced the door open.

The suspected robbers then demanded that she give them her money but she told them she had used it and that the only money she had was for housekeeping.

The men threatened to kill her if she did not heed their request. Her plea for mercy fell on deaf ears as the men stabbed her in the chest after struggling with her.

They then took her car keys and fled with it. The car’s registration number is CR 497 -09

According to the eyewitness, the robbers were able to escape before the police got to the scene.

They later abandoned the car in the middle of the road at Gomoa Akamah where the Winneba Police Command took it to the Winneba Police Station.

Meanwhile, the Winneba Police Commander, Mathew Asamoah, has given the assurance that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the suspects.
