A cross section of people in Cape Coast yesterday expressed their happiness about the fact that President John Dramani Mahama had nominated Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur from the Central Region, as his vice president.
According to them, they believed Mr Amissah-Arthur could team up with President Mahama to complete all projects initiated by the late president, John Evans Atta Mills.
The projects included the Kotokuraba Market and the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
They disclosed this to DAILY GUIDE in Cape Coast in reaction to the nomination of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana as the Vice President.
Ama Mansa, a trader around the Cape Coast Castle indicated that without Mr Amissah-Arthur, President Mahama might think some of the projects in the region were not necessary.
She hoped Parliament would approve his nomination to enable the people of the region to feel that they were part of government.
A second hand clothes dealer at Kotokuraba, Kwabena Nketsiah said the region would benefit in terms of development, with the nomination of the Central Bank Governor as vice president of Ghana.
In an interview with the cousin of Mr Amissah Arthur, Kwaku Sam Amissah-Arthur, a nephew of the nominee, described his uncle as a hardworking man and very competent to partner President Mahama to grow the economy of Ghana.
He noted that all the family members were solidly behind Mr Amissah-Arthur and it was their prayer that he would get the nod from Parliament.
Meanwhile, others have said until Parliament approves his nomination, they would reserve their comments.
