The Volta River Authority (VRA) Hospital at the weekend received medical and surgical equipment from the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), to assist in quality health care delivery.

Mr. John Barley, Vice President of Megellan Aerospace, who represented the CCC team, said the donation was to promote health care delivery within the VRA’s catchment area.

He said: “There is no better way to contribute to the welfare of our new found friends than improving their health,” and asked VRA Hospital authorities to make good use of the equipment.

Mr. Stephen Doku, Director Special Engineering Projects, VRA, said the Authority had built roads, schools, toilets and awarded scholarships to brilliant students within its operational area.

Mr. Enoch Appiah, District Chief Executive of the Shama District, commended the VRA and its partners for enhancing the quality of lives of the people within the district.

Dr. Divine Amexo, VRA Hospital Superintendent, who received the equipment praised the donors for their contribution to the promotion of health in the area.
