Ghanaian investigative journalist, Anas Aremyaw Anas, was on Saturday June 28, adjudged winner of the Best Agribusiness/ Environment Feature category of the 2012 Diageo Africa Business Reporting Award.

Anas won the award with his investigative story “Ghana’s Gold” which was shown on Al Jazeera. The former Ghana Journalist of the Year, received a bronze statue titled “News” by the sculptor Loni Kreuder and a cheque for £500.

The awards ceremony was held in London.

The topmost award – Journalist of the Year, went to Oliver August, Africa Editor of The Economist.

The Awards, which were launched in 2004, recognise the fact that excellent business journalism plays an important role in promoting Africa as a destination for investment and supporting enterprise development.

The 2012 winners of the Diageo Africa Business Reporting Awards are:
