Police have discovered the corpses of two children, aged 8 and 6 believed to have been killed by their own father. Another 2-year-old child is reportedly missing.

The bodies were discovered at SSNIT flats at New Bortianor near Accra after relatives mounted a search for the 3 children.

According to sources, a misunderstanding ensued between the suspect, known only as Joe Blackie and the mother of the children after which Blackie threatened to ‘deal’ with her.

Frederick Bonkoh is the deceased’s uncle and he told Adom News that though the family is not aware if the suspect has a mental problem, they knew of his prolonged alcohol abuse and suspect that might have influenced his action.

Bonkoh said when they found the bodies, the 8-year-old, who is a boy, seemed to have been strangled with a rope lying by his body whiles the 6-year-old; a girl lay in a pool of blood with a deep cut on her head and a stone which seemed like the murder weapon lying nearby.

The mother of the children is said to be in shock and is unable to communicate while relatives are grappling with the rationale for the gruesome murder.

Joe Blackie is said to be on the run and Weija Police have mounted a search for his arrest.
