The Police in Tema say they have already launched an investigation into the escape of some remand prisoners from the Tema community two police station.

The five prisoners who escaped from cells on Monday were awaiting their appearance in court in the coming days.

The suspects, comprise three (3) Ghanaians and two (2) Nigerians.

The suspects are Prosper Dzanyikor, Richard Kwabena Opoku, Samuel Kortley, Oban Otse, and Ohiwa Seni.

The Tema regional Police PRO Corporal Joseph Barabu in an interview with XYZ News said the police will explore all means necessary to re-arrest the remand prisoners within the shortest possible time.

“All that the Police officer on duty at the charge office was supposed to do was done until he went in again to check on these criminals to realize that some of them have escaped through an unlawful entry.

“We have now launched an investigation to re-arrest these criminals”.

Corporal Barabu however appealed to the public to report any suspicious looking persons to any nearby police station.
