The District Police Commander for Tafo-Pankrono, DSP Kwesi Fori has been transferred back to the Greater Accra region as the Head of the Community Police unit of the Ghana Police Service.

Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service DSP Cephas Arthur who confirmed the story to XYZ News stated that DSP Kwesi Fori’s appointment takes immediate effect.

DSP Kwesi Fori was the former Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, before he was sent to the Ashanti region as the District Police Commander for Tafo-Pankrono in the Kumasi metropolis.

DSP Kwesi Fori’s transfer was seen as a demotion considering the variance in command between his earlier post as Police PRO and District Police Commander.

Others also conjectured that his re-assignment might have come about as a result of his alleged poor handling of the contentious Amina brother Tape, and his alleged rush in the announcement of the interdiction of 17 police officers, over which the top police hierarchy was alleged to have been infuriated.
