Peacefmonline.com can confirm that four of the six prisoners who escaped whiles being transported from Accra to the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons have been re-arrested.

On Wednesday, October 12th, six prisoners broke the locks of a heavily fortified prison van which was carrying them from the Police CID cells and escaped into the bush near the Pokuase police barrier.

Peace FM's Senior Reporter, Odiahinkan Kwame Yeboah who later visited the scene narrates that the vehicle had slowed down at a toll booth when the prisoners took advantage of the situation and escaped.

Speaking to Shamima Muslim on the Citi Eye Witness News, the Public Relations Officer of the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Chief Inspector Benefo Darkwah disclosed that four of the escapees have been re-arrested after a swift operation.

He however added that the whereabouts of the other two prisoners is still unknown, but gave the assurance that all is being done to effect their arrest.
