Ho Polytechnic branch of the Polytechnic Administrators Association of Ghana (PAAG), on Monday appealed to government to establish a Police post at Ho Polytechnic campus.

The Association said this was in view of the spring up of banking institutions at campus of the educational institution.

Mr Edward Obeng Dwamena, Chairman of the Association, made the appeal when the group called on Mr Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister, in Ho.

He stressed that the location of banking institutions coupled with numerous social activities of students at the campus made the place “a potential target of criminals” and called on government to boost security at the area.

Mr Dwamena urged government to support members of PAAG to undertake career development courses as was being done for polytechnic teachers.

Mr Amenowode said the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) would work with the Polytechnic Council towards the development of education.
