The Cape Coast District branch of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) has presented 252 Holy Bibles to the inmates of the Ankaful Prisons to mark the Church's worldwide programme dubbed "Follow the Bible" which is to encourage religious leaders and all Ghanaians to read the Holy Bible.

Pastor Kusi Acheampong, who made the presentation, said it was their religious obligation to visit the inmates regularly, pray with them and remind them that God still cares for them and could bring them out of their predicament.

A lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, who is also a member of the church Prof Edger Takyi Akonnor said research conducted by the university revealed that only about 50% of the population read the Bible regularly.

The Central Regional Prisons Commander, Mr. Oppong Kofi Tweneboah Koduah who received the Bibles, expressed his gratitude to the SDA Church for the donation.
