When Peace FM’s Odi Ahenkan Kwame Yeboah decided to tie the knot, his radio wife, Afia Adutwumwaa Mmrosa might have come to the minds of most listeners. Odi, as he is popularly known, however, ‘swerved’ Adutwumwaa and settled for another beauty, Helina Achiaa Yabbey, a graduate of the Sefwi Wiawso Nursing College whom he took to the altar on January 9, 2010.
The marriage ceremony at the Kwadaso Methodist Church in Kumasi was a true celebration as well-wishers graced the occasion to lend their support to the young man who has now fully migrated from make-believe married life on radio into one in the real world. Odi is a never-to-be-missed personality known for his Akan news presentation style but more for the varied roles he plays on a segment of Peace FM’s drive time programme, Ekwanso Brebre hosted by Fiifi Banson.
The enactment of these episodes is perfectly played by Odi, his radio wife, Afia Adutwumwaa and supported by Michael Botwe a.k.a Micky the Double Darling. Odi has the penchant to defend sometimes the irrational and delves into marital issues with so much controversy which has won him many fans, especially against his radio wife, Afia Adutwumwaa. Now that Odi’s hitched to Helina, the big question most fans of Ekwanso Brebre will be asking is: What happens to Adutwumwaa?
In a chat with Graphic Showbiz, he said Afia Adutwumwaa will always remain his radio wife, “I am still married to her on radio but the real love of my life is Helina.
She is my special darling and I will never subject her to do what I do to Adutwumwaa on radio.” Odi, a native of Akyem Aboabo in the Eastern Region, attended Attafuah Secondary Technical School in Oda. He began his journey into radio five years ago at Radio Biyac, Oda. He later moved to Solid FM in Kumasi. He joined Peace FM in 2007.
