| MILLS' FINAL JOURNEY: Long Queue Starts DAY TWO Of Mills’ Funeral |

Day two of late President John Evan Atta Mills’ funeral has began with long winding queue of sympathizers already at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra.
Peacefmonline.com can confirm that hundreds have gathered at the forecourt of the national edifice where the late Ghanaian political leader has been laid in state for the filing past formalities.
On Wednesday, scores of Ghanaians including government and National Democratic Party functionaries, ministers of state, service commanders, the clergy, traditional rulers and top civil and public servants gathered in front of the Banquet Hall to pay their last respects to the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
And the scene at the State House is not much different from what transpired yesterday.
Reports say some of the locals interviewed claimed to have arrived at the venue as early as 2.30am to form a queue in order to leave on time to work Thursday.
Security personnel continue to give off their best to ensure every activity is carried out in orderly manner to ensure peaceful internment of the late president. So far the public has lived up to expectation as they have conducted themselves well according to directives from the security details.
The front of the State House and Banquet Hall is bedecked in mourning colours of black and red with two posters of the late president – one in black suit with white shirt and green tie and another in white political suit with the message “Peace I leave with my nation.”
On Day 1 of the funeral service, President John Dramani Mahama, dressed in a black suit and tie with his wife, Lordina, was followed by Vice President Kwesi Amissah- Arthur and former First Lady Dr Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills to file past the mortal remains of the late president. |

Ghana’s living fomer presidents, Messieurs Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor also filed past the late president’s remains accompanied by their wives.
Former President Rawlings, who wore black suit with a strip of red cloth around his neck, stood at the foot of the bed and bowed at the body of the man who was his vice president for four years.
Ex-President Kufuor, who was in a black mourning cloth and using a walking stick, was accompanied by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, some senior members of the party and NPP members of parliament, filed past the body.
They followed by the leadership of parliament and parliamentarians.
Dignitaries such as Dr. Mensah Otabil, Archbishop Duncan Williams and other champions civil society also filed past the body of the late president.
President Mills died at the 37 Military Hospital on July 24 after being taken ill. He was succeeded by his vice John Mahama the same day.
