The National Chief Imam, Shiekh Osumanu Nuhu Sharubutu, has directed all mosques across the country, to offer special prayers for the late President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills on Friday August 10, 2012.

He said the late President Mills was a good man who served the country selflessly to better the lot of Ghanaians.

Shiekh Sharubutu's gave the directive in a press release signed by his Personal Assistant, Alhaji Khuzaima Osman.

“We need to pray for the country to maintain its peace, during, before and after the elections and also pray to Allah, to help the current President, John Dramani Mahama with guidance, protection and wisdom for him to steer the affairs of this nation well”, he said.

Additionally, he saw Islam propagates peace and as such Ghana needs peace to thrive as a nation.

Shiekh Sharubutu, however, called on all to learn to show solidarity, sympathy, respect to elders, and senior citizens of the country to promote healthy living.
