Seven people are facing trial for attempting to disrupt the ongoing biometric voters registration in Akuse.

The seven were arrested in Akuse but were transferred to Koforidua on the orders of the Regional Commander, DCOP Gyamera Yeboah.

He told GBC's Radio Ghana that, the suspects have been processed before court and were granted bail to re-appear tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the registration exercise is going on smoothly and is expected to end tomorrow.

The exercise is going on despite an injunction sought by the Chief and some people of Akuse.

This has resulted in a contempt suit filed against the EC.
