Information reaching Peacefmonline.com indicates that two additional fuel tanks of a Ghana Airforce aircraft which was in flight, have fallen off over Sakora, near Adenta, a suburb of Accra.

The two tanks fell separately, one on a building and the other on a field.

The K8 trainer Aircraft, a six wing aircraft, was reportedly undertaking its normal training routine when the incident occurred.

Eyewitnesses said they heard a loud noise and smelled burning fuel and later realized the pylon tanks of an aircraft had fallen on the ground between two houses.

About a week ago, a helicopter with registration number JA 9 AWD made an emergency landing at the St Michael’s International School at Menan in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region.

Again, in the latter part of June, a helicopter belonging to Newmont Ghana made an emergency landing at Beposo in the Ashanti region due to poor visibility.

It is unclear what might have caused the incident though no casualties were recorded.

More details later...
