One of the alleged murderers of the son of veteran Ghanaian sports journalist, Kwaku Ofosu Asare, has been arrested. The sports analyst is appealing to the public to provide information that could lead to the bottom line of the case.

His 17-year-old son, Kwame Asare, was stabbed to death in Brixton, a district in the London Borough of Lambeth in south London, Britain last Friday when he and his friend were on their way to a recording studio to record a song.

His father, a former host of GTV’s Sports Beat show, told Citi News he hopes the thugs involved in the murder of his son would be brought to justice.

“We have been able to garner a few facts,” Mr. Asare told Citi News. “We’re making a passionate appeal to any member of the public who happens to have any information and what transpired on that unfortunate day. It will set the record straight because we don’t want it to look like he was a member of a gang.”

“Unfortunately, he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Speaking from his base in the UK, he explained how his son was brutally stabbed to death by his assailants.

“He had gone to the studio to record. He was a good footballer, an actor and was into music as well. According to his friends, when they finished recording, the friend asked him to accompany him to go and visit his aunty so on their way they saw some guys coming from afar and they ran after them.

“Unfortunately, the guys got him and stabbed him and he died there,” Mr. Asare said.
