Manna Mission Incorporated, a faith-based organisation, last Sunday launched its 20th Anniversary celebrations to reflect on its past achievements and plan for the future.
The mission establish in 1988, by Reverend Dr Seth Ablorh, a former student of Oral Roberts University, has transformed from a small beginning in a rented building in a Teshie township in Accra, to a massive infrastructure of a hospital, a school and a Bible Institute.
Rev. Mrs Olivia Dotse, Director of Administration at the Mission, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Monday, said its work had thrived on the selfless contributions of renowned speakers including Oral Roberts, Dr Morris Cerullo and Papa Billy Lubansa of Zambia whose large crusades touched the lives of many both in Ghana and nations across Africa.
She explained that Dr Ablorh's concept of a unique blend of effective evangelism, Christ centred compassionate medical care and strategic community development was shared by the Teshie community who donated a 32 acre land for the commencement of a clinic and other future investments.
Rev. Dotse said since it moved to its present location in 1993, the Manna Mission Hospital had been providing quality health care not only to the Teshie community but Ghanaians at large.
"The Ghanaian community has over the years enjoyed great and free humanitarian health care services from both local and international health specialists including surgeons through outreach programmes, "she said.
Rev. Dotse said the Mission's Academy which had reached Junior High School level, the Bible Institute, Computer Institute and the Living Manna radio broadcast programme were the evangelistic outreaches that had been established to meet the needs of society.
She said the Mission would soon establish a Senior High School, a Nursing School, a College, a Women's Health Centre and a multi-purpose facility, known as the Bethel Building, to meet the growing demands of its clientele.
Some activities planned for the celebration include the Morris Cerullo School of Ministry organising a seven-day Holy Ghost Teachings from November 8-15, 2009.
The speakers would include Dr Mensah Otabil, Papa Billy Lubanza of Zambia, Rev. Dr Seth Ablorh and Bishop Charles Agyin Asare. |
