Share Life Ministries International, a Ho-based Church, last Thursday organized eye screening for 200 traders operating in the Ho Central Market, to mark the Ministries’ first anniversary.

The church undertook the eye-care outreach in collaboration with Life for the Living Medical and Humanitarian Centre, an eye care charity, also based in Ho.

The exercise was also to commemorate the formal ordination of Reverend Benjamin Bankas as Head Pastor of the Ministry, on Sunday.

Cost of screening and medications were at the expense of Share Life Ministries International.

Selasi Akpakli, Drug Dispenser of the Eye-Charity told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that eye conditions treated included itching and sore eyes and that a few cases of cataract and pterygium were detected.

He said some of those screened were found to have high blood pressure and were advised to see their doctors.

Rev Bankas, said the Ministry would liaise with the Save the Nation Sight Clinic in Accra for surgical operations on those diagnosed with cataract and pterygium.

He said the thrust of Share Life Ministries International’s founding principle was to touch the lives of people through practical contribution to their wellbeing.

The climax of the five-day anniversary celebration, of the church is on the theme: “Launch Out Into the Deep,” is the ordination ceremony on Sunday.
