Twenty First Lady, Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills says the nation would have no future if we fail to provide adequately for the education and development of the youth.

She emphasized that Education is the surest way of building a better Ghana and that Government would continue to invest in quality education at all levels. Mrs. Naadu Mills stated these when she presented the Presidents Award to 20 students who distinguished themselves in the 2008/09 BECE and three (3) SHS Students who excelled in the WASSE, as part of the 53rd Independence celebrations at State House, on behalf of President J.E.A Mills.

In all two (2), students were selected from each of the 10 regions, one male and one female each. Mrs. Naadu Mills said the theme; Investing In The Youth For A better Ghana” appropriate because it is such investments that would put the youth in good positions in the future.

The Minister of Education, Hon. Alex Tetteh Enyo said apart from academic work, good conduct, sports, community service were also considered before awarding the winners. He said each of the winners would get full scholarship for SHS, book awards, GH¢500 cash and a certificate signed by both President Mills and Hon. Alex Tettey-Enyo.
