The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the Bole Senior High School in the Northern Region has renovated a two-classroom block at a cost of GH¢17,268 to ease an acute infrastructural problem facing the school.

The Association has also renovated the dining hall and provided dining tables, all valued at GH¢14,400, as a gesture of support following a pledge it made to the school to help salvage the infrastructural problems facing the institution.

The Chairman of the PTA, Chief Alex A. Iddi, formally handed over the classroom block to the over all landlord of the Bole Traditional Area, Bole-Wura Amankwa Gbedesi II, at a ceremony in Bole.

Inaugurating the block, the Bole-Wura expressed appreciation to the PTA and said when he visited the school about a couple of months ago he noticed the infrastructural problem there.

He said he made an appeal to the government through the District Chief Executive to help the school with more classrooms and dormitories in order to solve the problem.

The PTA Chairman for his part, said the school was one of the oldest in the country and has produced a lot of prominent people but has been neglected for some time now.

Chief Iddi who is also spokesman for the Bole Wura, indicated that the school has a population of over 2000 students, but has limited dormitories and classrooms to accommodate students.

He added that an eigh-room dormitory block was also being constructed by the PTA to help ease the congestion. He however appealed to other stakeholders, past students, the government through the Ministry of Education, and benevolent organizations to come to the aid of the school.

The Bole District Chief Executive, Alhaji Abudu Seidu Sampson, officially handed over the classroom block to the Headmaster.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Daniel Kpebu, thanked the PTA and pledged to maintain and to put the building to good use.
