Past students and corporate bodies have been urged to assist in the provision of school infrastructure for their alma mater to promote teaching and learning.

Mrs Mary Amankwaah, Headmistress of the Odorgonno Senior High School (OSSA), in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Accra on Saturday, said the school was currently celebrating its 70th anniversary and called on the past students to take part in the year-long activities.

She said activities planned for the celebration include Breakfast Show, Homecoming, Speech and Prize Giving Day and Thanksgiving Service.

Mrs Amankwaah said the school which was a "Boys only Institution" became a mixed school when the first female students were admitted in 1993.

"With an inspiration from the Motto of the school 'Moko Be' meaning 'no one can stand the competition' OSSA had produced many outstanding students through hard work and determination," she said.

Mrs Amankwaah also urged parents to take active interest in the education of their children and wards.

She noted that such close relations with schools and institutions would enable them to be abreast with the development of students and correct their shortcomings through collaboration with teachers.
