The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante-Mampong, Mr Francis Addai-Nimoh, has used his share of the GETFund, totaling GH¢30,000.00, to support the improvement of school structures in the area.


Part of the money went into the construction of a two-unit classroom block, each for the Nyinampong Methodist Primary school and Patasi Kindegarten.

Mr Addai-Nimoh, at a ceremony to present sports kits to the school at Nyinampong, said he was determined to do all he could to ensure that the right environment was created for effective teaching and learning.

CARE International, a non-governmental organization donated the jerseys, footballs and netball posts.

The MP encouraged parents to make sure that all children of school going age are not only enrolled in school but that they are, especially the girls, retained.

Care International has launched a project, "Responsibility for Education of Girls Active Learning" (REGAL), to assist in the increase of girls enrolment into schools in the Asante-Mampong municipality.

Mr Gearge Appiah, an Assistant Manager of the Project, said they are helping to strengthen the capacity of school management committees, parent-teacher associations and community-based organizations to promote girl-friendly school environment.

The Queen of Nyinampong, Nana Adoma Kyireakua, advised parents to provide for the educational needs of their children.
