Twenty-seven-year-old Joseph Sakyi, alias Akwasi Joe, has been arrested with seven big parcels of Indian hemp.
The suspect was arrested by the police in his house at Alajo in Accra upon a tip-off.
Speaking to The Finder, DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Deputy Accra Regional Commander, said police yesterday had a tip-off that some people were dealing in drugs at Alajo.
Based on that, detectives were dispatched to the location where Joseph was arrested.
DCOP Yohuno said a search in the room of the suspect revealed the parcels of the substance, suspected to be Indian hemp.
When interrogated, Joseph told police that his boss (name withheld) supplied him with the substance.
Meanwhile, he is in police custody assisting police in investigations. |
