Three teachers have appeared before the Ajumako District Magistrate’s Court in the Central Region, for examination malpractices in the just-ended Basic Education Certificate Examination.

The teachers whose pleas were not taken were: Veronica Mensah, Joseph Quansah and Asiedu Arthur.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Daniel Tawiah, Station Officer at Breman Brakwa said Veronica, an invigilator and the two others were arrested on April 16 at 0905 hours.

He said Mr Obuobi Ampomah, Senior External Examiner in-charge of Breman Asikuma Senior High School Examination Centre spotted Veronica on mobile phone at the centre.

Investigations conducted revealed that the phone had answers to 40 questions in the English paper of which 28 were correct.

Inspector Tawiah said the fourth suspect is on the run and pleaded with the court to remand the suspects to enable the Police to conduct further investigations and a search for the fourth accused.

The presiding Magistrate, Madam Patience Ablor however granted bail to Veronica Mensah who is a nursing mother while the two were remanded in Police custody to reappear on April 27.
