| Self-styled student jailed in Techiman |

A Techiman magistrate court has sentenced a 21-year-old self-styled student at James Town in Techiman Municipality to two years imprisonment in hard labour after convicting him on three counts of unlawful entry, causing damage and possession of offensive implements.
Morris Apuri, who could not mention the name of his school, pleaded not guilty to the charges but later pleaded liable in the course of the trial.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector David Alhassan told the court presided by Issah Abdul Wahab that at about 1320 hours on October 10, 2009, the convict and an accomplice now at large, broke into the house of Warrant Officer Class One Aduako (rtd), who was not at home.
Some neighbours saw them, so the pair jumped the wall and started running away but Apuri was apprehended and a bag containing screw drivers, hammer and choker was found on him.
The prosecutor said the neighbours quickly informed WO 1 Aduako and Apuri was handed over to the police.
Passing judgment, Mr. Wahab noted that stealing was on the ascendancy in the municipality and should not be tolerated.
